About

Instrumental artist Jim Pietkivitch emerged in the mid 1990’s and composed, performed, and produced ambient and progressive electronic music. His debut album Twilight Dreams was released in 1995 on Ivory Moon Recordings label. In 1998, he released Spiral Journey on his own Electrofine Music label. Both albums received national distribution and airplay and appeared on syndicated radio. He collaborated with guitarist Matt DePasqua on tracks Cyber-dream and Crossing the Line. In 2004, Jim released Inner Worlds. The album features flute by Melanie Pietkivitch on “Skyward” and vocals on “Peaceful Valley”. Jim’s recent releases, Invasion (EP) and Center of Your Soul (single) were compositions he wrote in 2005 which feature his drumming. The single is a collaboration with Melanie Pietkivitch who wrote the lyrics and performed vocals.

Jim began learning music with the oboe when he was 10 years old. He performed with school orchestras until the age of 13. Jim learned piano and then started drumming at the age of 15. He took lessons from Joe Pulice, a nationally known jazz drummer which helped his opportunity to play in the high school jazz and horn ensembles. Though he loves drumming, his interest in exploring new forms of music inspired him to begin writing. His music entices the listener into a journey of great sound and expression.

“I very much enjoy sound creation, exploring new forms of music, and using new technology that enables the creative process.” – Jim
